Yellowstone – Fairy Falls Trail
See geysers and one of the most spectacular waterfalls of Yellowstone National Park on this bike-and-hike version of the Fairy Falls Trail.
Description
Fairy Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Yellowstone (61m high). The road leading to the hiking path is a gravel road closed to cars. This makes it a good target for a short bike ride. On the way you will pass beautiful Goose Lake and several features displaying volcanic activity. The hiking path leads through a pine forest. It is very popular and may get crowded in high season. Both, the hiking and biking path, are easy to navigate and are also suitable for children.
What to bring
- Bike and Hike essentials
- A lock for your bike as you cannot take it with you on the hike
Tips
- When choosing your shoes, consider that you have to bike and hike in them. Cycling shoes with cleats may not be the right choice.
- You can also do just the hike. There is a parking lot close-by.
- There are two tent campsites on the way. One is located at beautiful Goose Lake. The other one is Fairy Meadows, located in the middle of pine trees.
